Arts Award is a framework for children and young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. Children and young people develop creative and critical skills, set themselves challenges and explore the arts, share their achievements and can gain a recognised qualification.
About Arts Award
Arts Award has five levels and appeals to a wide range of children and young people. It assesses art form knowledge and understanding, creativity and communication rather than specific art skills. Participants can be absolute beginners or experienced in their art form.
Trinity College London manage the scheme in association with Arts Council England. Since its launch in 2015, Arts Award has grown quickly. It now flourishes in arts centres, community projects, libraries, museums, schools, theatres, youth clubs and more.
City-wide Arts Award initiative
In the summer of 2017, for the first time, arts and cultural venues across Exeter all worked together to tell families and children about their collective range of inspiring arts activities, and how these experiences could help them work towards or complete an Arts Award qualification. You can find out more about the city-wide initiative here.
